Some questions you might have

  • Why are the retreats silent?
Have you ever floated out of a yoga class, feeling totally calm and balanced, inside and out? And then, almost instantly, that feeling vanishes as you step back into the noise and busyness of everyday life. Now imagine holding onto that feeling… and deepening it over an entire weekend. There’s no social media pulling your attention, no news updates or other people’s problems in your ears. No rushing between chores and responsibilities. Just space - to slow down, breathe, and reconnect. Of course, your mind will still be busy at times (everyone's is). But you’ll be gently guided through simple techniques to help quiet the chatter and come back to calm...again and again.
  • What are the "rules" on retreat?
This isn’t a Vipassana retreat - we’re not strict about what you can and can’t do. You’re welcome to read a book, journal, enjoy a massage, or spend your free time on quiet, mindful hobbies. The only thing we ask is that you put your phone away and keep it out of sight, so it doesn’t disrupt your experience or that of others. If you’ve been craving a break from screens or wanting to ease into a digital detox, this is the perfect place to begin.
  • Can I book with my partner/friend?
Yes, absolutely! Booking with a partner or friend can make the experience even more special. While this is a silent retreat and you’ll each be on your own inner journey - staying in separate rooms and not speaking during the retreat - there’s something deeply comforting about knowing someone you care about is right there beside you (in spirit), going through their own process too. Many guests who come with a loved one say it creates a quiet but powerful bond between them. You’ll share the same beautiful surroundings, nourishing meals, and peaceful practices - each in your own space, yet connected in a unique and meaningful way. After the retreat, you may find yourselves reconnecting on a deeper level, with a renewed sense of calm and clarity to bring back into your relationship or friendship. It’s a beautiful way to grow individually, while also supporting one another.
  • How are your retreats different from Vipassana?
While we share some of the same benefits as Vipassana - like silence, stillness, and deep inner reflection - our retreats are quite different in style and structure. We’re not primarily meditation-focused. Yes, we offer plenty of meditation instruction and opportunities to practice, but it’s just one part of a much broader experience. Our retreats also include gentle yoga, sound healing, time in nature, nourishing meals, and space for things like journaling, reading, or simply resting. Vipassana retreats tend to be highly structured and quite strict, with long hours of seated meditation and clear rules about what you can and can’t do. In contrast, our retreats are more relaxed and spacious. There's a gentle rhythm to the weekend, with freedom to choose how you spend your quiet time, always supported by guidance and care. It’s silence and time in nature - without the pressure. Structure - without the rigidity. A nourishing and restorative experience that meets you where you are.
  • I have never done yoga/meditation is that ok?
Absolutely - that’s totally okay! All classes are optional, and you’re welcome to join as many or as few as you like. We love introducing people to both yoga and meditation, and our classes are thoughtfully designed to support beginners while still offering something for those with more experience. You don’t need to be flexible or have any prior experience - just an open mind and a willingness to give it a go. The yoga we offer is gentle and grounding, but it does require participants to be able to get up and down off the floor unassisted. Many guests come to their first retreat having never tried yoga or meditation before - and they leave feeling calm, inspired, and confident to continue the practices at home.
  • Can I sit in a chair for the meditation sessions?
Yes, on all retreats we usually have at least one person sitting in a chair for various reasons (we have many chairs available, for this purpose). Just let us know when you arrive at and we'll get this set up for you. Your comfort is important, and we want the experience to feel as relaxed and supportive as possible.
